I understand that some things need to be behind closed doors to protect people or assets like real estate deals and contract disputes, but the reputation this city has with closed door meetings for major projects that have been in the public's eye is just wrong.
Reduce the number of closed-door meetings as much as possible without compromising the ability of the city to operate, livestream all meetings on multiple platforms that allow real-time input at zero taxpayer cost, and change commission meeting rules to allow commissioners to give feedback after public input.
